65. 1930 DIY Chatelaine

Well at least the patterns and the clothes made from them were made in Canada, even if the designs came from Paris and New York!

“The Chatelaine in its February issue will present a new service to the women of Canada-CHATELAINE PATTERNS.
The Chatelaine, after almost a year of preparation, is the first magazine to present its own guaranteed pattern service and to sell for twenty-five cents a pattern equal to those sold at double the price.
There is nothing cheap about Chatelaine Patterns but the price. The designs come from Paris and New York. The patterns themselves are made in Canada. Each pattern is cut and plainly marked. On the envelope containing each pattern is a clear, simple chart.”
