Canucks get last laugh at Olympic closing

VANCOUVER – After weeks of Canadians gritting their teeth in the hunt for Olympic gold, the closing ceremonies of the Vancouver Games were the equivalent of a country-wide gap-toothed grin.

It was just another iconic Canadian image to float into view on this night.

But for all the show’s moments of winking at Canadian stereotypes, the show’s final note instead looked to the present and future, with Toronto’s k-os performing his “Eye Know Something” while hip-hop dancers filled the arena, moving to the music.
