CANADIAN FASHION: PRESENTING SPRING 1981

FROM STYLE; THE “INSIDE THE INDUSTRY” CANADIAN FASHION JOURNAL, OCTOBER 1980. HERE, ALONG WITH THE PICS, YOU WILL FIND A FASHION SHOW REVIEW THAT TOLD IT LIKE IT WAS, POINTING OUT THE GOOD AND BAD, NOT JUST THE FAWNING BIT OF PR COVERAGE WE MOST OFTEN SEE TODAY. BRAVO STYLE!

ON A PERSONAL NOTE, I HAD NOT LONG BEEN AT MARILYN BROOKS AS A DESIGN ASSISTANT, MY FIRST NON RETAIL FASHION JOB, AND THE MAJORITY OF THE LOOKS YOU SEE IN THE LOWER PIC, CENTER, I DRAFTED. I ALSO GOT MY FIRST TICKET GOING TO PICK UP THOSE SNAPPY SHOES, AS I WAS CAUGHT DRIVING THROUGH A STOP SIGN, AND WITH A BRITISH COLUMBIA DRIVERS LICENSE NO LESS…THEY HELD THE CAR AND PUT ME IN THE CRUISER AND SOMEONE FROM THE STUDIO HAD TO COME AND GET ME! IT WAS THE BEGINNING OF A LONG AND FULFILLLING CAREER AND AN UNFORGETTABLE FRIENDSHIP WITH MARILYN!
