from the website:
“A fashion designer, born in Glasgow Scotland, Christine Morton became fascinated with textiles and fabrications at an early age. Her initial company created custom lingerie and bridal gowns. From this, emerged a limited edition collection and the first line of silk lingerie designed and manufactured in Canada. Christine’s lingerie is carried in high-end boutiques and luxury department stores. Customers from around the globe and celebrities such as Oprah, Catherine Zeta Jones, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diana Krall, Christina Hendricks and Katie Holmes continue to collect her unique and beautiful garments.

Christine has been honoured with awards attesting to her unrivaled achievements. She was a recipient of the Fashion Export Awards in 2005 and 2006 and was recognized multiple times by the Matinee Fashion Awards in Canada from 1997 to 2002. Today Christine’s ability to stop and look for beauty continues to remain a simple yet profound thing. To slow down, to simplify, a way of training the eye to see what is often overlooked has a powerful way of adding richness to everyday life.”

from Vancouver Museum Website
“Designer, Christine Morton, was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Immigrating to Canada when she was nine, the family settled in West Vancouver. Christine studied Fashion Design at Columbia College in Vancouver. She always had an interest in silk and lace which she developed into a line of high end lingerie. Launched in 1973 with the label Christine and Company, it was the first such line in Canada. Christine expanded her repertoire to include silk blouses, silk and lace dresses and bridal wear. Christine has a large private collection of antique lace from which she draws inspiration and works with long established lace manufacturers to reproduce antique lace. Still designing (as of 2011), Christine’s designs are sold world wide and have been featured in The Oprah Magazine.”
